Play the Wilde designed and constructed this bespoke outdoor playspace for My Kindy Runaway Bay, transforming an underutilised courtyard into a dynamic play environment that encourages climbing, movement, imagination and social interaction. Developed in collaboration with Hardyscape Designs, the project combines landscape architecture with custom play design to maximise the potential of the existing site while delivering a durable, engaging outdoor environment for everyday childcare use.

A key feature of the project is the custom timber fort, designed to integrate with the site's existing embankment. The elevated play structure incorporates a double race slide, rope climbing net, stepped access, elevated decks and connected play spaces, creating varied opportunities for physical challenge and imaginative play. A new covered sandpit, raised planting, artificial turf and rubber safety surfacing complete the upgrade, delivering a durable and engaging outdoor environment tailored to the centre's needs.

Every element was designed to work together, creating a cohesive playspace that balances play value, supervision, durability and everyday functionality while making the most of the available space.
