HOW WE DESIGN OUTDOOR SPACES
The best outdoor environments are designed, not assembled.
They are thoughtfully designed around children, educators and the way each centre operates, not around individual pieces of equipment.
Whether you're planning a complete redevelopment or upgrading an existing outdoor space, our design-first approach creates environments that are engaging, practical and built to support learning for years to come.
Great outdoor environments begin with good design.
Many outdoor upgrades begin with choosing equipment.
We begin by understanding how the entire outdoor environment should function.
That means considering:
-
Supervision and sightlines
-
Children's movement and circulation
-
Nature play opportunities
-
Outdoor learning experiences
-
Shade and comfort
-
Planting and biodiversity
-
Maintenance requirements
-
Longevity and future growth
-
Budget and staging
before selecting a single play element.
Because great outdoor environments aren't created by adding more equipment—they're created by designing everything to work together.

FROM CONCEPT TO REALITY
Here's what thoughtful design looks like when it's built.

Every decision has a purpose.
At Gardenia Early Learning, Ellen Grove, the bike track wasn't designed because it looked good. It was designed to connect play zones, encourage continuous movement and improve supervision.
The raised planters weren't simply landscaping. They became boundaries, sensory experiences and informal seating. Great outdoor environments are made from hundreds of small design decisions working together.
WHY IT WORKS
Rather than filling a yard with disconnected equipment, every element is considered as part of one connected outdoor environment.
They experience
one outdoor World.
